How it works

Two kinds of people use the nest:

Miners run units on the map and get paid for finished work.

Shops pay postage so those hexes get built, then use the finished tiles as storefronts.

Mining is explained first.

You can watch for free. Nothing here is a live coin you can buy yet. Open the camera: sematect.org/nest. The catalog of finished shops is Aisle.

If you are a miner

You are not buying a shop. You are doing work on the map.

Each of your miners is one unit on the map. You can run more than one. They all work the same way. There is no ant / bee / termite switch. Miners are representations of insects in the math. On the nest they are units, not drawings of bugs. The papers that inspired the math still live on the Research page. They are not playable classes.

There are two kinds of first-time work.

Empty gold hex. No shop hired it. Finish it the first time and you get 1 STCT from the mint cap. No bait. No NFT.

Hired hex. A shop put a work order on it. A dashed gold outline means “please build this.” A blue bowl on that hex is construction bait — STCT, ETH, USDC, wrapped Bitcoin, or another listed coin. A bigger bowl means more money. Autopilot does not chase that blue bowl. You have to steer a miner onto it. Once a miner starts chewing a hired hex, that hex is locked until they finish or leave.

You can click a hex to aim a miner, or turn on autopilot. Clicking does not pay. The miner has to walk there. When it arrives it starts the work. An orange ring fills around the hex. When the ring closes, that miner submits a certificate. The first valid certificate wins.

Autopilot walks empty gold jobs. It prefers the nearest unfinished tile, leans toward nearby wear from recent chews, and takes a small random step so the swarm does not freeze on one rim. It never takes hire bait, a visit drop, or a Ticket. Steering by hand is how you take those.

If you finish an empty gold hex for the first time you get:

  1. 1 STCT from the mint cap

If you finish a hired hex posted by someone else for the first time you get:

  1. 1 STCT from the mint cap
  2. 95% of the construction bait on it, if any

You do not get the ERC-721. The shop that posted the work order keeps the door. You cannot mint a deed of a wall you hired yourself. The other 5% of bait is the protocol cut.

After 24 hours that same hex can be worked again for bait, a visit drop, or a Ticket. It does not mint a second STCT. Shop tiles stay green.

A visit drop on a finished green shop hex is prize money to look. A Ticket is a shop coupon on that hex. Autopilot cannot take either. You have to steer there. One drop and one Ticket per visitor per shop per the 24-hour clock. The product card stays. Looking is free.

The homework for docking is private to you. Copying a neighbor’s path fails. There are no wall-clock rounds. The nest does not reset. Coins you already hold do not evaporate.

If you run a shop

You put a work order on an empty hex that already touches the colony. That postage is an STCT stamp. Bait is optional. Any listed coin can be bait. Bait only attracts miners who steer there. It does not create the shop. After a different miner finishes the hex, that tile is your storefront and you get the ERC-721 deed. You keep the door. You edit the product card. You may pin a Ticket. Many touching work orders make an aisle. Leave one empty hex between your tiles and another shop. Shop controls restock the aisle so people come back. Looking at a finished shop is always free. A visit drop is only the paid lure. A Ticket is only the coupon.

The six beats

  1. Put a work order on a hex (pay the STCT stamp).
  2. Bait is optional. It only attracts miners who steer there.
  3. A steered miner walks there and finishes the work. Clicking is not enough.
  4. After it is built it is your storefront. You keep the ERC-721 door. The miner keeps the paycheck.
  5. Many touching work orders make a shop aisle.
  6. Shop controls restock the aisle. Pin a Ticket if you want the visit to leave a coupon.

2. Bait is optional BAIT any listed coin · steered miners only

3. Walk there and finish clicking does not pay
Arrival starts work. First certificate wins. One chewer at a time.
4. Shop keeps the 721 SHOP KEEPS THE DOOR miner keeps the paycheck

5. Touching hexes make an aisle AISLE leave one empty hex between shops

6. Ticket is a coupon not a second coin steer to pick it up · autopilot cannot
A Ticket sits on a finished green hex. It expires with the clock. Bags of STCT do not.

Shop controls

On a finished shop the 721 holder sets the product cards, the visit budget, and any Tickets.

One visit drop and one Ticket per visitor per shop per that clock. Extra units from the same wallet count as one visitor. When the budget hits zero the shop stays. Pause or cancel returns unused budget. The 5% already taken does not.

Why build here, not there?

01 · Rooms

Build a room, not a parking lot

Job labels name the wing. They do not print extra coin.

02 · Six sides

The middle fills fast. The edge lasts.

Rim hexes open new neighbors. That is how the map grows.

03 · Campaigns

Fund a wall, not one lucky tile

Blue bowls along a line are work orders people can steer to.

04 · Deed lock

No deed of your own wall

A different miner has to finish the work order. Same-wallet builds do not mint the 721 to you as a souvenir.

05 · Sight

Build where people are looking

The camera sits on the thickest cluster. Aisle is how they jump without walking.

06 · Clock

A map that does not reset

Bags of STCT do not evaporate. Only an unused Ticket dies with the 24-hour clock.

What is not live yet

There is no official STCT contract address yet. Practice on the nest camera. When a contract is published it will be listed on sematect.org. Anything else that uses this name is a fake.

The west side does not pay more forever. Being in the middle does not make your miner stronger. Coins you already hold do not evaporate.

The nest grows

When a miner finishes a hex on the rim, the empty neighbors become new gold jobs. Hexes do not run out. New STCT does: first finish of a coordinate mints 1 STCT, drawn from a cap of 1,000,000,000. Coming back after 24 hours does not mint a second.
